The Limmat Warehouse, situated on Riverside Quay in ZOA City, Zürich, UK, began its life in 1905 as a substantial textile storage facility. Following a comprehensive architectural reimagining, the space reopened in 2018, meticulously blending its industrial heritage with contemporary design. The conversion preserved much of the original building's raw character, prominently featuring exposed brickwork, towering steel trusses, and an expansive, unadorned aesthetic. A modern glass and concrete extension seamlessly integrates the new main foyer and essential technical infrastructure, creating a dialogue between early 20th-century industrialism and 21st-century architectural clarity.

The primary performance area offers a flexible configuration, primarily serving as a flat-floor standing hall with a capacity for 2,500 patrons. Above this, a dedicated tiered balcony provides 1,200 fixed seats, offering an elevated perspective on the stage. For more intimate gatherings and experimental performances, the venue includes 'Studio B,' a smaller secondary space capable of accommodating 250 standing attendees.

Sightlines from the main hall's standing area are generally clear, though can become compromised in densely packed crowds further from the stage. The tiered balcony typically offers unobstructed views for the majority of patrons; however, some seats at the extreme lateral edges may experience partial visual impedance due to the original structural pillars supporting the building's roof. Acoustically, the high ceilings and hard, reflective surfaces of the converted warehouse present inherent challenges. The main hall's sound profile can be prone to reverberation, particularly for certain musical genres or less amplified acts, necessitating a robust and precisely calibrated PA system to ensure vocal and instrumental clarity. In contrast, Studio B, with its lower ceiling and acoustic treatments, provides a noticeably drier and more controlled sonic environment, well-suited for spoken word or stripped-back performances.
