Live ticket prices for AI assistants and apps

NeedATicket checks the cheapest listed resale price for every upcoming concert, match and show it tracks, every hour, through StubHub's API. Any AI assistant or app can read those prices directly. Nothing here needs an account or a key, and nothing here sells a ticket: every result links to the event's page on this website, which shows the current price and where to buy.

Four ways to read the data

  • MCP server at https://needaticket.net/mcp: one read-only tool, search_ticket_prices, for Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and any other Model Context Protocol client. Streamable HTTP, no sign-in.
  • JSON feed at /prices.json: the same rows and filters as the tool, as a GET request.
  • OpenAPI description at /openapi.json: the feed's parameters and response, for code generators and custom GPTs.
  • Plain-text summary at /llms.txt: what the site is, the cheapest tickets and biggest drops right now, and where the data pages are.

Add it to Claude

  1. In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it NeedATicket and paste https://needaticket.net/mcp as the URL. Leave authentication off: the server is public and read-only.
  3. Start a chat, enable the connector, and ask a ticket question. Claude calls the tool and links you to the event pages.

Add it to ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Apps and connectors, then Advanced, and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Choose Create, name it NeedATicket, paste https://needaticket.net/mcp, and set authentication to none.
  3. In a chat, add the connector from the plus menu and ask your question.

Questions it answers well

  • “What are the cheapest Oasis tickets right now?”
  • “What is on in Las Vegas next weekend under $80?”
  • “Which Broadway shows have had the biggest price drops this week?”
  • “How much are Lakers tickets in January?”

What the tool takes and returns

search_ticket_prices accepts these inputs. All are optional, and a question usually fills in one or two.

Input Meaning
query Artist, team, show or venue name. Part of a word is fine.
event_city Only events held in this town or city. It is where the event is, never where the person is.
from, to First and last event date to include, as YYYY-MM-DD, in the event's local time.
max_price Highest "from" price per ticket, in USD.
sort price (cheapest first), soon (soonest first), drop (biggest 7-day fall) or low (furthest below its usual price).
anywhere Include events in every country, not only this site's home country.
limit Results to return: 10 by default, 25 at most.

Each result carries the event's name, date and time, venue and city, the cheapest listed price per ticket in USD before the seller's fees, when that price was last read, whether it is unusually low against its usual price, and the event's page on this website. It never carries a marketplace link: the event page is where the current price and the ticket link live, and it can refresh the price on demand.

Prices are StubHub's cheapest listed resale price at our last hourly check. They can move between checks. Football matches whose resale is restricted by law show no price and no ticket link, on this site and through the tool alike.

Limits and fair use

  • Up to 25 results per call. Answers are cached for a few minutes, so repeated identical calls cost nothing.
  • No key and no rate card. If you expect more than a few thousand calls a day, email us first and we will make room.
  • Please attribute the figures to NeedATicket and link to the event page when you show a price to a person.

Privacy

The tool receives only the search words and filters the assistant chose from a question, keeps no record of them, and stores daily usage counts that identify nobody. The complete account, including what is kept and for how long, is in section 6 of our privacy policy, which applies to every assistant that connects, not only ChatGPT.
