Constructed in 1971, the building originally served as a textile warehouse before its conversion into a live music venue in 1988. Its architectural style is a pragmatic Postmodern industrial adaptation, characterised by its imposing red-brick facade and large, steel-framed windows. The main hall is a vast, open-plan space with a clear span, supported by a robust steel truss system that also suspends the lighting rigs and PA system. With a maximum capacity of 1,800 standing patrons, the space offers an expansive, largely unobstructed view of the elevated stage from nearly all positions on the main floor.
The interior features polished concrete floors and exposed ventilation ducts, contributing to a raw, utilitarian aesthetic.
