Richfield Avenue is not a singular fixed edifice, but rather the expansive open-air site in Reading, Berkshire, globally recognised as the enduring home of the annual Reading Festival since 1971. The venue's architecture is, by its very nature, temporary and adaptive, evolving each year to accommodate up to 105,000 attendees. The primary performance areas consist of purpose-built, large-scale modular stage structures, such as the Main Stage and the NME/Radio 1 Stage, constructed from steel scaffolding and advanced rigging systems. Complementing these are a series of substantial tented structures, including the Festival Republic Stage and the Alternative Stage, providing more enclosed environments for performances.
