Opened in 2005, Operaen stands as a prominent example of contemporary Danish architecture, designed by Henning Larsen Architects. The main auditorium, known as Store Scene, is a grand, horseshoe-shaped space with a capacity of approximately 1,400 patrons across its orchestra stalls and three tiered balconies. A smaller, more intimate experimental stage, Takkelloftet, provides a contrasting configuration for avant-garde productions.
