Iowa City does not have direct passenger rail service. The nearest Amtrak stations are located in Mount Pleasant, approximately 60 miles south, and Ottumwa, roughly 65 miles southwest. Neither station provides a practical direct rail connection for event attendees; onward intercity bus connections or private transport would be necessary.

Key routes such as Route 3 (Hospital/Hawkins Drive), Route 5 (Westside), and Route 12 (Melrose) operate stops along Melrose Avenue and Hawkins Drive, providing connections across the University of Iowa campus and the wider city. Several University of Iowa parking facilities are within a 10-minute walk of the stadium. These include Hospital Parking Ramp 3, which is immediately adjacent, and the Newton Road Parking Ramp. During major events, expect significant congestion and premium pricing for official university lots. Advance booking for parking passes is highly recommended, as many lots require specific permits on event days. Numerous off-campus private lots also operate on game days, offering alternative paid parking options.

Entry to Kinnick Stadium is through multiple numbered gates located around the perimeter. All patrons should anticipate rigorous security checks and bag screenings upon entry. A strict clear bag policy is enforced, limiting the size and type of bags permitted inside the venue.
