Idra occupies a substantial former textile warehouse, dating from the early 1900s, positioned within Manchester's revitalised Ancoats district. Its architectural profile is distinctly industrial, characterised by exposed brickwork, robust steel girders, and polished concrete floors throughout. The renovation preserved much of its original utilitarian aesthetic, creating a raw yet imposing environment. The main hall operates predominantly as a flat-standing floor, accommodating up to 1,800 patrons. A slightly elevated, shallow balcony at the rear provides a limited number of seated positions, typically around 200, offering clear, unobstructed views over the main standing area.
