About HERE at Outernet: Layout, History & Architecture

HERE at Outernet is a purpose-built live events venue, opening its doors in late 2022 as a key component of the ambitious Outernet London entertainment district. Located beneath the immense digital canvas of The Now Building, the hall presents a stark, contemporary architectural style, characterised by its raw concrete finishes, exposed structural elements, and notably high ceilings. Designed primarily for standing audiences, it boasts a substantial capacity of 2,000, configuring as a vast, unobstructed floor space. While lacking traditional tiered seating, a number of elevated viewing platforms are strategically placed to offer alternative perspectives without impeding the main floor's energy.

The aesthetic prioritises functionality and a sense of modern industrialism, a common approach in newly constructed urban venues. Acoustically, the design relies heavily on a state-of-the-art sound reinforcement system to deliver clarity across its expansive, rectilinear volume. The inherent reflective qualities of its concrete and steel surfaces mean that the efficacy of the sound experience is largely a function of the deployed PA and meticulous sound engineering for each performance, rather than an innately warm or naturally resonant acoustic environment. Sightlines from the main standing area are generally excellent due to the flat floor and elevated stage, with minimal structural obstructions.

The Live Experience & Current Schedule

Entry to the space typically involves a controlled progression through dedicated access points from Denmark Street, leading into a well-appointed foyer area equipped with multiple bars designed to efficiently serve the large capacity. Once inside, the main floor quickly becomes a dense standing pit during popular events, fostering an immersive and energetic atmosphere with direct proximity to the stage. The elevated viewing platforms offer a slightly more removed perspective, providing space for those preferring to observe the performance and crowd dynamics from above. With 0 live performances scheduled, upcoming entry prices start from standard pricing. The next confirmed event on the calendar is upcoming live performances on soon.
