Designed primarily as a multi-purpose outdoor arena, the space boasts a seating capacity of approximately 15,000 for sports events, expandable to around 20,000 for concert configurations utilising the main pitch. The primary structure is a large, open bowl with a significant covered main stand providing tiered seating, while the remaining three sides offer a mix of uncovered terracing and additional temporary seating. Sightlines from the main stand are generally clear, though the vastness of the pitch means distant stage views can be a factor during large-scale productions.
Acoustically, the hall presents the inherent challenges of large, open-air venues. Sound dispersion is considerable, necessitating a meticulously engineered, distributed PA system for intelligible audio coverage across the entire area.
