How do I get to Stadio Olimpico, Rome?

Stadio Olimpico is at Viale dei Gladiatori, Foro Italico, Rome, 00135. Open in Google Maps

By train and tube

The closest station is Mancini, the northern terminus of tram line 2, a 10-minute walk across the Ponte Duca d'Aosta. Rome's metro does not reach the Foro Italico, so every rail route finishes with a tram or a bus.

  • Tram 2: Piazzale Flaminio to Piazza Mancini, every few minutes, about 12 minutes end to end.
  • Metro line A: Change at Flaminio for tram 2, or at Ottaviano for bus 32.
  • Roma–Viterbo line: Vigna Clara sits about 2 km north-west of the ground and runs a limited weekday service.

By bus

ATAC runs the buses, and most of them stop at Piazza Mancini or on the Lungotevere beside the ground.

  • 32: from Piazzale Clodio
  • 69: from Clodio and the Prati side of the river
  • 168, 280 and 628: across the northern suburbs
  • 200 and 301: from Saxa Rubra and Grottarossa
  • 911: from Piazza Mancini
  • n200 and n201: night buses towards Prima Porta and Piazza Venezia

Buses on the Lungotevere are diverted for a couple of hours around a stadium event, so on the way out the walk to Piazza Mancini beats waiting at the nearest stop.

By car and parking

Driving to the Foro Italico on an event day is the slowest way in: the Lungotevere closes on both banks and the residential streets behind the ground are permit-only.

  • Parking: There is no public car park at the stadium. The nearest large parking areas are at Piazzale Clodio and the Villaggio Olimpico, both about a 20-minute walk.
  • ZTL: Rome's restricted-traffic zones cover the centre. The Foro Italico is outside them, but the approach roads close during events.
  • Drop-off: Taxis set down at Piazza Mancini and on Viale Angelico rather than at the gates.

Accessibility

Sport e Salute, which runs the stadium, sells wheelchair spaces and companion places directly, so they do not reach the resale market.

  • Wheelchair positions: Level positions in the ground's lower tiers, reached by ramp from the outer concourse.
  • Companion places: A companion place comes with each wheelchair space.
  • Accessible parking: A small number of blue-badge bays sit inside the Foro Italico and are booked with the ticket.
  • Assistance dogs: Assistance dogs are admitted.

Write to the stadium's ticket office before you travel.
