For travelers arriving by train, the nearest Amtrak station is Buffalo-Depew, located approximately 9 miles (14.5 km) east of downtown. While not within immediate walking distance of the KeyBank Center, it is a primary hub for Amtrak services connecting Buffalo to major cities like New York City, Albany, and Niagara Falls. From Buffalo-Depew station, attendees can take a taxi, rideshare service, or local bus routes to reach the arena. Journey times by car from the station typically range from 20 to 30 minutes, depending on traffic. The station itself offers basic amenities for travelers, including waiting areas and ticket services. It is advisable to check the Amtrak schedule in advance for frequency of service and to plan your onward journey to the KeyBank Center to ensure timely arrival for your event.

Several NFTA (Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority) bus routes conveniently serve the area surrounding the KeyBank Center. Key routes include the 6, 12, and 14, which provide direct service and connections from various neighborhoods across Buffalo and its surrounding suburbs. Route 6 typically runs along Main Street, Route 12 connects the East Side with downtown, and Route 14 serves the North Buffalo and downtown areas. These routes are essential for getting to the KeyBank Center, especially for those looking for affordable and accessible public transit options. Many routes operate frequent service during peak hours, and some offer extended hours into the evening, though late-night or 24-hour service specifically to the arena may be limited. Journey times from the downtown core are generally short, often under 15 minutes. For the most current schedules and route information, visit the NFTA website.
